Scenario one – Looking for something Customer: Excuse me. Do you have any _______? Shop Assistant: Yes, they are next to the ___________. Do you know where that is? Customer: Yes, I think so. Thanks! Shop Assistant: No problem. Scenario two – No stock Customer: Excuse me. Do you have any _______? Shop Assistant: I’m not sure. I’ll go and check. Customer: Thanks. Shop assistant goes away and then returns Shop Assistant: I’m sorry, we don’t have any. Customer: No problem. Thanks anyway. Shop Assistant: You’re welcome. Scenario three – Refusing a favor Andy: Hi Dave! Could you do me a favor? Dave: Sure, what is it? Andy: Could you help me tidy my room? Dave: Sorry Andy, I don’t have time. I have to study. Andy: Okay, no problem. Scenario four – Asking for a favor using ‘will’ Andy: Hi Dave! Will you do me a favor? Dave: Sure, what is it? Andy: Will you help me study for my exam? Dave: No problem.
